Would you like to be a Fellow?

If you are interested in helping us in our mission and would like to mentor students in navigating the academic application and its world please fill out this form.

How Fellows Join

  1. Apply. Fill out the form above.

  2. We review. We read every application and reply within one calendar week.

  3. We talk. A short video call to walk through the program and answer your questions.

  4. Screening. Since you will be working with minors we will walk you through our screening process which will prepare you to work with them and ensure that is a safe environment for everyone.

  5. Sign. You sign the Fellow Volunteer Agreement and Code of Conduct. You can see the public Code of Conduct published in our website which describes the expectations of a fellow.

  6. Match. We pair you with a student based on availability, time zone, and fit, then introduce you by email.

  7. Mentor. You and your student set your own schedule. For any student under 18, a parent, guardian, or school representative is copied on every message. Their guardians can also attend any meeting at any point without asking.

Fellows are unpaid volunteers. Most meet with one student for about an hour every week or two. Fellows must be high school graduates and either currently enrolled at an accredited academic institution or a college graduate. No specific major or degree required, and we value diverse backgrounds and schools of thought.
